Official Liberal Party of Canada policy is pro-abortion and pro-LGBT ideology. In fact, due to a candidate selection process initiated by Justin Trudeau on May 7, 2014 and continued by Mark Carney today, pro-life Canadians are forbidden from running as Liberal Party candidates.

Through a judicial recount of the ballots cast in riding of Terrebonne during the 2025 federal election, it was determined that this Liberal candidate, Tatiana Auguste, defeated the incumbent Bloc Quebecois MP by a single vote.
