Conservative Party | Richmond Centre - Marpole, BC
CLC rating: Caution
Rating Comments: CLC's 2025 federal election questionnaire not yet sent.
However, Mr. Au was a candidate for the NDP in the 2017 BC provincial election. It was the BC NDP government in 1990 that introduced regulations within the province's Health Act to force hospitals within each region of the province to provide "abortion services", even where the hospital board of directors had voted against the practice. In 2001, the ruling NDP government issued one of the most radical pro-abortion resolutions ever seen in North America which included increased funding for the medical training of abortionists; enhanced access to abortifacient morning-after pills; and increased fees for abortionists. The NDP also passed the "bubble zone" law t to prevent pro-life protests in front of abortuaries. The BC NDP is also opposed to traditional family values. Its constitution includes a "Lesbian-Gay-Bisexual-Transgendered Caucus" within the party.
It is to be hoped that MP Au, as a Conservative MP, has now distanced himself from the anti-life, anti-family ideology of the NDP.
