In January 2025, Ms. Estabrooks resigned from her position as a trustee with Edmonton Public Schools, evidently in order to focus on the widely-anticipated federal election campaign as a candidate for the left-wing NDP. In her biography on the EPS website, she uses the (she/her) formula after her name to signal her allegiance to the reality-denying, anti-human "transgender" ideology so favoured by left-wing radicals. Official NDP policy is pro-abortion & pro-LGBT ideology.
