It was determined that Parm Gill lost the 2025 federal election in the riding by a very slim margin after a judicial recount of the ballots cast.

Previously, Parm Gill served as a Conservative MP for the federal riding of Brampton North, and later was elected as an Ontario PC MPP in the provincial riding of Milton. He resigned his MPP's seat in 2024 in order to run as a Conservative candidate in the 2025 federal election.

In June 2017, while campaigning as the Ontario PC candidate for Milton in the 2018 Provincial election, Mr. Gill marched in the homosexualist "Pride Parade" in Toronto, which undermined his credibility as a supporter of true marriage. Federally, Mr. Gill did not respond to CLC's 2011 questionnaire. In written correspondence prior to his election, he said he was against the destruction of embryos and supports traditional marriage. In 2013, he was a member of the parliamentary committee which deemed an important private members motion (M408) non-votable, based on trumped-up grounds. M408 merely sought to condemn the barbaric practice of female gendercide which is occurring in Canada through sex-selective abortion. In 2012, he also voted against Stephen Woodworth's principled Motion 312 to study whether a child in the womb is a human being, based on the evidence from modern medical science. According to a CLC supporter and constitutent in the riding, Gill has continually refused to respond to the supporters repeated requests to learn his stance on abortion.
