Side-by-Side Candidate Comparison in the Riding of Edmonton Gateway

Rating Comments

In June 2021, this MP rightly voted in favour of pro-life Bill C-233, introduced by Conservative MP Cathay Wagantall, to outlaw the horrific practice of sex-selective abortion, in which unborn babies are killed for no other reason than their sex.

MP Uppal has a mixed voting record during his past as an MP. He generally voted in a pro-family manner and against euthanasia. However, he voted against Stephen Woodworth's pro-life Motion 312 which merely asked Parliament to study what modern medical science has to say about the humanity of children in the womb.

No response to CLC's federal election questionnaire.

In correspondence with a voter during the 2025 federal election campaign, Mr. McCormack correctly stated, "Abortion is murder of the most vulnerable individuals in our society . . . The unborn are never consulted & never consent." Additionally, in his response to CLC 2025 federal election questionnaire, he expressed similar views. However, he would consider supporting abortion in cases of rape and adverse fetal health conditions.

Official party policy is pro-abortion and anti-traditional marriage. In fact, Trudeau's new candidate selection process, instituted May 7, 2014, forbids any pro-life Canadians from running as Liberal Party candidates. The only way they would be allowed to run, is if they promise to vote in favour of abortion whenever such legislation comes up.

Official NDP policy is pro-abortion & pro-LGBT ideology.
