Although MacAulay claims to be "personally pro-life", he has admitted that if the abortion issues ever comes up, he will vote in favour killinh children in the womb, as is required of him by Party policy. Justin Trudeau instituted a new policy in 2014 which explicitly stated that all Liberal MPs must vote in favour of abortion.

Green Party policy is officially pro-abortion. It issued a press release citing the party Leader saying she supports abortion on-demand. There is also as a video interview with Leader Elizabeth May, saying abortion "is not a morally wrong decision by any means". The previous Green leader, Jim Harris, stated: "The Green Party is in favour of gay marriage and a woman's right to choose (on abortion)".
