Side-by-Side Candidate Comparison in the Riding of Sherwood Park - Fort Saskatchewan

Garnett is known to be pro-life, and has a nearly perfect voting record during his career as an MP. The one blemish on his voting record actually took place at the Conservative Party's 2018 National Policy Convention in Halifax where Genuis voted against a "Preborn Child" policy resolution submitted by grassroots members. The policy resolution, if passed, would have replaced a problematic pro-abortion statement in the CPC's policy declaration with a strongly-worded policy in favour of the rights of the preborn child. In another bizarre moment during the same convention, Genuis criticized an excellent policy resolution which stated explicitly that palliative care should never include euthanasia.

Official party policy is pro-abortion and anti-traditional marriage. In fact, Trudeau's new candidate selection process, instituted May 7, 2014, forbids any pro-life Canadians from running as Liberal Party candidates. The only way they would be allowed to run, is if they promise to vote in favour of abortion whenever such legislation comes up.
