Side-by-Side Candidate Comparison in the Riding of Brantford - Brant

Rating Comments

In conversation with a constituent prior to the 2021 election, Mr. Brock stated that he is "pro-life" and pledged to always vote in favour of pro-life private members' bills if elected. However, in a short series of tweets responding to voter inquiries, Mr. Brock revealed that his views on abortion may not be reliable and may be informed by the Conservative Party line, and that he favours a so-called "conversion therapy ban", which would impede and potentially punish parents, therapist and pastors who attempt to protect children from the dangers of homoerotic behaviour and transsexualist hormone therapy and mutilating surgery.

Previously , Independent candidate John Turmel was a candidate in the October 26, 2020 federal by-election in the riding of York Centre.

He also ran in 2015 federal election in the riding of Brantford-Brant. Prior to that, he ran unsuccessfully in the Federal By-Election on November 17, 2014 in Whitby-Oshawa. He was also an Independent candidate in Federal By-Election on June 30, 2014 in Trinity-Spadina, but was not elected. His political beliefs are somewhat radical. He supports legalizing marijuana, the harmful gateway drug. According to wikipedia, he wants police/government to keep out of gambling, drugs, sex and 'rock and roll'. He has also said the Jesus did not come to bring salvation in the afterlife, but here on earth, and that Christ's primary message was about not charging interest on debts. In 2016, he ran for the Pauper Party in an Ontario provincial byelection in Whitby-Oshawa, but lost.

Official policy is pro-abortion and anti-traditional marriage. In fact, Trudeau's new candidate selection process, instituted May 7, 2014, forbids any pro-life Canadians from running as Liberal Party candidates. The only way they would be allowed to run, is if they promise to vote in favour of abortion whenever such legislation comes up.
