Side-by-Side Candidate Comparison in the Riding of Wellington - Halton Hills

Mr. Carle refused to give direct answers to CLC's 2019 federal election questionnaire, stating instead that his position on abortion and end of life issue is "far more nuanced" than our questionnaire would allow him to express - even though CLC provides an opportunity for candidate's to elaborate on their positions.

He did acknowledge that abortion and end of life issue are "very important" and asserted that, on any legislative proposals, he would vote according to his conscience.

In response to an inquiry from a pro-life voter, Mr. Carle suggested he and his wife would never have aborted any of their 5 children, even if they had been diagnosed with genetic defects. However, he did not elaborate about his views on the legality/criminalization of abortion, other than to say he thought a late-term abortion ban might be a place to start.

Chong has consistently held a pro-abortion position. Going back to a 2004 All-Candidates meeting and a 2005 meeting with a constituent he said that he supports the killing of children up to 20 weeks in-utero. In 2011, he told a CLC leader that he only disagrees with abortion after the unborn baby becomes "aware of its surroundings".

In June 2021, this MP disgracefully revealed himself to be an enemy of parental rights, and science, by voting to pass Bill C-6, legislation that will jail parents for up to 5 years if they dare to affirm their gender-confused child in their biological sex. Chong also voted in favour of the radical "transgender Bathroom Bill" which will grant biological males the legal right to access private female spaces including girls washrooms, change rooms, and showers.

Chong is apparently oblivious to the fact, or doesn't care, that transgender activists will use this legislation not as a shield, but as a sword, to target biblical world-view Christians for harassment, for destruction of reputation, and for persecution through false claims of "hate speech". This bill provides for jail time and ruinous fines for Christians found guilty of "offensive" speech under the bill, not just for actual acts of violence or actual incitement to hate and violence. The bill that Chong voted for was purposely written with vague, open-ended wording so that any criticism of the theory of "gender identity", which, incidentally, has no scientific basis, can be interpreted as "hate speech". Likewise, it is written with ill-defined, ambiguous terms so that any religious/moral objection to transgender ideology, can be interpreted as "hate speech". In essence, the bill was a gift to radical transgender activists, from the Trudeau government, to empower them with a weapon to silence Canadians with whom they disagree.

Official policy is pro-abortion and anti-traditional marriage. In fact, Trudeau's new candidate selection process, instituted May 7, 2014, forbids any pro-life Canadians from running as Liberal Party candidates. The only way they would be allowed to run, is if they promise to vote in favour of abortion whenever such legislation comes up.
