Side-by-Side Candidate Comparison in the Riding of Sherwood Park - Fort Saskatchewan

Garnett is known to be pro-life, and has a nearly perfect voting record during his career as an MP.

The one blemish on his voting record actually took place at the Conservative Party's 2018 National Policy Convention in Halifax where Genuis voted against a "Preborn Child" policy resolution submitted by grassroots members. The policy resolution, if passed, would have replaced a problematic pro-abortion statement in the CPC's policy declaration with a strongly-worded policy in favour of the rights of the preborn child.

In another bizarre moment during the same convention, Genuis criticized an excellent policy resolution which stated explicitly that palliative care should never include euthanasia.

In February 2020, Garnett continued demonstrating a socially-liberal streak by attacking a pro-family Leadership candidate, Richard Decarie, who had defended traditional marriage and the natural family. He also penned a column in the National Post in which he argued, quite illogically, that the Conservative Party of Canada could support homosexual "marriage" and somehow, still be considered a "pro-family party".

Another indicator of Genuis' drift towards the liberal left was the fact that he endorsed the pro-abortion, pro-transgender ideology, pro-gay pride marching MP, Erin O'Toole, during the 2020 CPC Leadership race, even though there were four pro-life, prospective leadership candidates from which he could have chosen, including a sitting Conservative MP.

Mr. Wetterstrand gave perfect answers to CLC's 2021 federal election questionnaire. However, we did not receive his questionnaire until after election day, unfortunately, and therefore we were not able to get out the vote for him.

Official policy is pro-abortion & pro-LGBT ideology. In fact, Trudeau's candidate selection process, instituted May 7, 2014, forbids any pro-life Canadians from running as Liberal Party candidates. The only way they would be allowed to run is if they promise to vote in favour of abortion whenever such legislation comes up.
