In June 2021, this MP rightly voted in favour of pro-life Bill C-233, introduced by Conservative MP Cathay Wagantall, to outlaw the horrific practice of sex-selective abortion, in which unborn babies are killed for no other reason than their sex.

Michael gave perfect answers to our 2018 CLC elections questionnaire. He won the by-election on December 3, 2018 by a wide margin.

CLC was disappointed to see this stalwart pro-life MP endorse the pro-abortion, 2020 Conservative Leadership candidate Erin O’Toole, especially when there were two strong pro-life candidates in the race, MP Derek Sloan and Dr. Leslyn Lewis, behind whom all pro-lifers needed to rally.

During Parliamentary debates on euthanasia expansion Bill C-7, MP Barrett wisely cautioned that the bill could disproportionally impact vulnerable communities (see Quotes tab).
